Role Overview
We are looking for a Manager Global Transport (m/f/d) to make sure our parts reach customers around the world on time. Whether it is a planned project delivery to a shipyard or an urgent spare part to a small island, you will organize transports together with your team and keep the process reliable and measurable.
As part of our logistics team, you will lead the transport team, look after the transport budget, and manage our transport suppliers directly. You will work closely with colleagues across the business and with our service providers, and be the go-to contact when transport issues need escalating.

Key Responsibilities

Team and Budget

• Lead and support the transport team in their day-to-day work
• Oversee transport activities including transport invoices, supplier management, and purchasing
• Manage the transport budget and keep costs under control
• Act as the escalation point for transport issues and help the team resolve them

Process Improvement

• Improve our transport processes to reduce costs and support future growth
• Agree on transport strategy and improvement priorities with logistics management
• Prepare simple business cases for improvement ideas
• Collect and analyze transport data, and share findings with the team and management
• Set up and track KPIs for our transport chains

Suppliers

• Select and negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, brokers, and logistics providers
• Manage supplier relationships and performance directly
• Set up and monitor Service Level Agreements and contracts

Operations and Compliance

• Handle daily operational challenges together with the transport team and local warehouses
• Make sure transports follow international regulations and standards
• Keep up with industry developments and best practices
• Build good working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and authorities

Key Requirements

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or completed vocational training in freight forwarding or logistics (e.g. Kaufmann/-frau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung); equivalent experience is also considered
• Experience leading or coordinating a team
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Structured way of working, with the ability to plan ahead and improve processes step by step
• Comfortable working with international colleagues and partners
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset
• Hands-on attitude and happy to get involved in daily operations
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
