We are looking for a passionate Chemical Engineer to join our growing team in our Switzerland HQ.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chemical Engineer at Nanogence, based in the Lausanne area. You will be working in an interdisciplinary team, participating in the development of new green chemical products and scaling up the manufacturing process. The role requires strong analytical skills, and any prior experience in material science or chemistry would be beneficial. As we are a startup, the work environment is dynamic, and you are expected to adapt and contribute to various tasks beyond your direct qualifications or experience. The role aims to drive sustainable innovations across the building materials, health, and energy sectors:
- Construct, calibrate, and/or prepare test samples and test equipment
- Use lab equipment to obtain, prepare, measure, and collect test specimens in lab or field environments
- Ensure lab tools and equipment are in good working order and facilitate repairs or replacements as needed
- Order consumables/materials as well as equipment for laboratory use if needed
- Perform material inventories when required
- Analyze materials, conduct laboratory experiments, engage in process engineering, and communicate effectively within the team
- Regularly review scientific articles and help improve existing SOPs
- Produce frequent reports and presentations for management and/or clients
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, nanochemistry, nanomaterials, or related fields
- 1-3 years of experience in a chemical engineering or chemistry-related project
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of additional software is a plus
- Proficiency in English is a must; additional languages are a plus
- Readiness to travel to visit client sites
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in process engineering
- Knowledge of nanotechnology and material science is a plus
- Experience in the chemical industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and laboratory skills

- You are required to commute daily to your workplace
