The NASA Space Apps Challenge CH is a space community, with headquarter in Zurich, Switzerland. It brings together coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, space enthusiasts, and creative minds to solve real challenges on Earth and beyond.

The Space Apps Community empowers innovation through NASA datasets, tools, and technologies, fostering collaboration and inspiring participants to build solutions for a better future.

The Zurich, Switzerland chapter proudly contributes to this global movement, connecting local talent with an international network of innovators.

Role Description

We are seeking a Community Ambassador to become one of the public faces of the NASA Space Apps community in Zurich.

This is a volunteer hybrid role , based in Zurich, with flexibility for remote engagement.

As an Ambassador, you will represent the Space Apps community publicly, help grow its presence, and support participants before and during the hackathon.

Responsibilities

• Hosting and moderating webinars, info sessions, and virtual meetups
• Leading workshops and training sessions on topics relevant to participants
• Serving as a public speaker and spokesperson for the Zurich chapter at events
• Engaging and inspiring the local community through outreach activities
• Providing mentorship, guidance, and support to hackathon teams
• Helping coordinate logistics with organizers to ensure a great participant experience
• Contributing ideas to strengthen our community presence throughout the year

Qualifications

• Strong public speaking skills and confidence in presenting to groups
• Experience in community engagement , coaching, or mentoring
• Background in training, teaching, or education is highly beneficial
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Passion for technology, innovation, space, and Earth sciences
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup, balancing on-site and online activities
• Experience in hosting events, facilitating workshops, or leading sessions is a plus
• A positive, inspiring personality who enjoys bringing people together
