Summary
You will serve as Deputy Associate Director, Parks and National Heritage Areas with Cultural Resources, Partnerships and Science (CRPS). You will be one of two principle National Park Service (NPS) officials who coordinates and develops policies, standards, and programs pertaining to the preservation and management of cultural resources within the Service's National Park units, as well as managing and implementing NPS responsibilities for the National Historic Preservation Program.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Coordinates and develops policies, standards, and programs pertaining to the identification, recordation, preservation, study, development, use, and management of cultural resources within the units of the National Park System. Provides administrative and technical supervision and management of research and historical documentation and technical assistance program services in national parks, other federally managed lands, and communities nationwide. Ensures that a satisfactory level of program communication and coordination exists among the Resource Stewardship Directorate and regional offices and Park units, with the goal of achieving a high level of uniformity and consistency in the execution of cultural resource management standards and policies in the field. Prepares annual budget justifications for Park Cultural Resource Programs. These justifications evaluate and report on program accomplishments by comparing performance with operating plans, and by assessing program results with the objective of promoting economy and efficiency in the execution of Park Cultural Resource Programs. Directly supervises up to four GS-13 and GS-14 professional program managers, and indirectly supervises approximately 65 professional staff through the program managers.
