Software Engineer

Every move matters! This is not only our motto, but also a clear message about how we work together as a team: Each of us contributes our part to ensure that we collectively achieve our goals.

We are Kaleris, a globally positioned software company with the aim of connecting and supporting worldwide supply chains through our software. At multiple locations in the USA, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Germany, we develop state-of-the-art cloud-based application software in the field of Terminal Operating Systems, Yard Management, Shipment Tracking, Asset Management, Sea Transport, and Ship Operations.

Located in Flensburg, in the northern part of Germany, we have been responsible for the product areas of loading computers and stowage planning systems, which play a crucial role in global maritime transport. We count the largest liner shipping companies and ship managers among our customers. Additionally, in recent years, we have expanded our product range to help our customers reduce the emissions of their vessels and comply with legal requirements.

Are you interested in working in a highly motivated product team on the next generation of maritime software? Then come aboard!

What awaits you with us?

We are a diverse group of people of different ages, genders, backgrounds, and beliefs. Naturally, we do not make any distinctions there. Additionally, we work daily with colleagues and customers from all over the world. Good English is therefore important.

Located directly in the heart of Flensburg, we work with around 70 people in a renovated factory building. Of course, you can also work flexibly from home three days a week or whenever necessary. In certain cases, full remote work is also possible.

Do you want to extend your stay at your holiday destination? Do you have relatives or friends abroad and would like to work from there for a while? No problem! With us, you can plan a workcation twice a year for a maximum of four weeks. You just need to bring your laptop and ensure internet connectivity.

In Flensburg, you can easily commute to work by bicycle. This keeps you fit and helps the environment. Don\’t have a bike? We\’ll help you with a JobBike. Do you live too far away? We have enough parking spaces for drivers. Plus, we provide coffee, mineral water, and fruit free of charge.

We live an open and honest corporate culture. The use of \“Du\“ (informal \“you\“ in German) is standard for us. If you wish, you can join in the communal lunch. Sometimes, we also organize joint cooking events. Company parties, BBQs, and our famous kale tour should not go unmentioned.

What can you expect in your role as a Software Engineer?

In an agile development process, you\’ll collaborate with product managers, testers, designers, and other developers to gather requirements, conduct development, and support quality assurance. You\’ll analyze, design, and develop robust cloud-based web applications. Taking responsibility for product features and software design is part of your role. Code and feature reviews are natural for you. You\’ll represent our products and their features in various cross-functional teams within the organization, such as documentation, professional services, and support.

What do you ideally bring to the table?

  1. A Bachelor\’s, Master\’s, or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  2. You\’ve already gained knowledge and experience with object-oriented methods, software architecture, design patterns, using automated test frameworks, and cloud-native software development.
  3. Ideally, you\’ve had exposure to designing and developing scalable, cloud-based web applications based on AWS or Azure.
  4. You\’re familiar with Visual Studio and Git and have worked with C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Angular, as well as database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and ideally DynamoDB.
  5. You\’re highly motivated to tackle challenges, continuously learn, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment.
  6. English language proficiency, both spoken and written, is a must-have in our globally connected teams.

Kaleris is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

About Us

At Kaleris, we encourage creativity, delight in innovation, and foster opportunities to grow. We believe every move matters, especially career moves. We’re building the connected, visible, sustainable, and reliable global supply chain of the future. And we\’re looking for the best and brightest people to join our team.
