Responsibilities
- Developing electromechanical components, assemblies, and, in some cases, simple segments in accordance with requirements and manufacturing specifications, while meeting quality, schedule, and cost targets, using CAD tools, by:
- Analyzing overarching requirements and creating a 3D implementation concept
- Developing production-ready design solutions while considering the reuse of existing components
- Assisting with cost estimates regarding development and manufacturing costs for the unit under your responsibility
- Designing and selecting suitable standard and purchased parts for the unit under your responsibility
- Coordinating interfaces with other internal departments and externally with suppliers and customers
- Participating in the selection of manufacturing suppliers and supporting the procurement process as a technical contact person
- Technical review of the created, standard-compliant technical product specifications
- Processing product data in SAP PLM
- Managing subcontractors commissioned with development and/or manufacturing
- Planning, managing, and overseeing integration activities for the first article
- Participation in the qualification and acceptance by the customer for the unit under your responsibility
- Conducting requested inspections and tests for the unit under your responsibility during development (engineering tests)
- Reviewing and providing technical input on external customer documentation for the unit under your responsibility
- Overseeing the preparation of the unit under your responsibility for series production, including supporting activities for test readiness and the start of series production
- Assisting with bid preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, or a related field
- Basic design experience in mechanical or plant engineering
- Basic professional experience in 3D CAD design (preferably Siemens NX)
- Proficiency in SAP PLM
- Understanding of mechanical engineering, optics, and electrical engineering
- Proficiency in the areas of design, mechanics, and materials science
- Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office applications
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
- Time- and cost-conscious work ethic

- Strong organizational skills even under high pressure
