Overview
In this role you will oversee the administration and optimization of IBM DB2 LUW environments within a defense-focused IT infrastructure. You’ll ensure high availability, security, and continuous improvement of DB2-based solutions across UNIX/AIX, Linux, and Windows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on operational projects and service enhancements, shaping resilient database services in a fast-paced setting. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Administer, maintain, and optimize IBM DB2 databases (DB2 LUW)
- Operate high-availability DB2 environments
- Implement backup/restoration procedures and lifecycle management
- Manage users, permissions and access controls
- Monitor and improve database performance and security
- Operate DB2 high-availability solutions (HADR, TSA/MP, Pacemaker, Replication/Q-Rep)
- Provide second/third-level support for DB2 incidents and problems
- Contribute to release and security management
- Prepare requirements and analyses for IT services; lead sub-projects where appropriate
- Develop monitoring and reporting structures (Checkmk) and support continuous service improvement
- Knowledge management and training: create materials and support knowledge transfer
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related discipline OR recognized IT vocational training with relevant experience
- DB2 certification or equivalent practical DB2 expertise
- 5+ years DB2 database administration experience
- Strong DB2 LUW and HA knowledge (DB2 11.5.x, HADR, TSA/MP, Pacemaker, Q-Rep)
- Experience with UNIX/AIX and Linux/Red Hat; Windows desirable
- Solid IT service management understanding (incident/problem/change management)
- Database backup, recovery, configuration, and user/authorization management
- Monitoring and operational reporting experience
- German C1 and English B1 per CEFR
- Willingness to travel up to 5% and undergo security screening
