About our client
We\’ve been mandated by a dynamic VC firm, headquartered in the Benelux market and looking to extend its operations in Germany, to identify a senior director with a strong venture track record and network.
The firm has a 10+ year record in its home markets, with 2 strong previous fund cycles and about to raise fund 3. They invest solely in B2B software from seed to Series A rounds and offer entrepreneurs deep domain knowledge from their own origin story as founders as well as significant operational and strategic support.
With an ambitious, entrepreneurial culture, the firm is seeking to grow through expanding its geographic coverage into Germany. This represents a great opportunity for someone with relevant investment experience, seeking a leadership role.
What the job involves
- Bringing the business into Germany and representing the firm locally; wide networking among founders, advisers, and fellow investors to drive deal flow.
- Working closely with colleagues in existing locations to leverage industry knowledge and identify angles.
- Selection of relevant target deals, working up term sheets, winning relationships & leading negotiations; managing diligence & execution.
- Active portfolio management to drive value creation through follow-on rounds and to eventual exit.
- Recruit and lead focused local team members for growth of the business in this key new market.
- Ongoing contribution to group strategy, fundraising, and investor relations.
- The role is on a clear medium-term partner track.
Who we are looking for
- Strong track record as a venture investor, ideally with exposure to B2B software deals.
- Dynamic leader, able to launch the brand into a new market and inspire trust and confidence in a wide range of other stakeholders.
- International mindset, ready to communicate effectively across offices and teams.
- Highly analytical, ideally with previous professional experience in a leading investment bank or consultancy.
- Great commercial judgement; high IQ and EQ; bringing soft & hard skills together.
- Native-level German speaker with fluent English.
