We\’re on the lookout for an ambitious AI-Engineer to join our Engineering team at our office in Berlin. Come make an impact at the early stage and well-funded medical fintech!

As part of our freshly launched AI division at Nelly, you\’ll be one of the pioneers shaping our future in AI. In a small, agile team, you\’ll work on developing cutting-edge AI systems and robust data pipelines—from rapid prototypes to scalable production solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep ML theory with practical cloud and data engineering know-how, and who can drive innovative GenAI initiatives while keeping a pragmatic product focus.

Joining us, you will

1. Design and implement modern data-pipelines, orchestrating data-assets for our AI-solutions – from experimental prototypes to production-ready platforms.
2. Design, build, and deploy agentic systems into production by leveraging cutting-edge AI advancements, including RAG, ReAct and Knowledge Graphs, to develop effective solutions.
3. Evaluate, select, and integrate AI tools, frameworks, and platforms to ensure scalability, efficiency, and compliance.
4. Embrace a fast-paced, agile environment where outcome and quick progress is achieved through experimentation and rapid iteration.
5. Support user interviews, contribute to product planning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects.

What you\’ll bring

1. At least 3 years experience in AI, machine learning, and data engineering.
2. Experience with modern data workflow orchestration frameworks such as Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect, with emphasis on dependency-aware pipelines.
3. Experience with cloud native development, ideally AWS.
4. Deep experience in Python and relevant frameworks such as pandas.
5. Strong applied ML fundamentals alongside theoretical experience.
6. A self-motivated and creative problem-solver with a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI in healthcare and fintech.
7. A proactive and independent work ethic, balanced with strong team collaboration skills.
