For our client, an internationally active company in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector based in Basel, we are looking for a Translational Data Scientist (m/f/d) . Our client is known for its strong position in biomedical research and advances translational science through data-driven innovation.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to translate biological insights into decisions across drug discovery and early-stage development
- Build and apply pre-clinical models derived from internal and public data for departmental research projects
- Model multi-modal clinical data using established and emerging approaches to uncover biomarkers of disease progression and treatment response, and shape new therapeutic target hypotheses
- Partner with a core team of translational research and data science experts across wet-lab and dry-lab practices
- Contribute to projects with external partners at renowned healthcare institutions, including opportunities to publish
Your Profile
- Experience in the life sciences industry modeling biomedical research data
- Proven application of statistics and data modeling to large-scale life-sciences datasets
- Hands-on experience integrating multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to answer key scientific questions
- Responsible, hands-on handling of clinical data in an industry setting
- Applied experience with AI, machine learning, large language models and agentic workflows for analysis and decision-making
- Proficiency in R/Python and confidence in a Linux environment
- Nice to have: experience working with or fine-tuning foundation models , e.g. in biology, chemistry or clinical data
