Overview
As Patent Counsel for Digital & AI at Nestlé, you will shape and protect the company’s digital, AI-driven, and electronics-centric innovations. You’ll partner with R&D teams and patent professionals to drive IP strategy, manage portfolios, and navigate cross-border patenting. The role combines strategic advisory with hands-on drafting, prosecution, and FTO work to secure business value. You’ll work across Nestlé Research and related centers to safeguard cutting-edge technology and promote IP awareness. This is a mission-driven opportunity to influence innovation at scale.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and implement the IP strategy for digital, AI and electronics-driven innovations in partnership with R&D teams and IP functions
- Lead patent filing and prosecution activities and conduct Freedom-to-Operate assessments
- Manage patent portfolio with business alignment and cost control
- Advising on IP matters in R&D collaborations, including licensing and joint developments
- Support other categories on connected systems, digital platforms, and AI-based innovations in collaboration with category patent counsels
- Collaborate with Nestlé Research, Deep Tech Center, NPTC and other R&D centers to protect innovations across categories
- Promote IP awareness through training, sessions, and communication to enforce Nestlé patents in R&D and markets
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Fully qualified patent attorney EQE and/or national qualification in a major jurisdiction (e.g., USA)
- Background in Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or related field
- 3+ years post-qualification experience in patent drafting, prosecution and FTO in digital/electronics/AI space
- Experience developing business-driven IP strategies across multiple jurisdictions with knowledge of EPO, USPTO and CNIPA
- Service-oriented, pragmatic, rigorous, hands-on and collaborative mindset
- Fluent in English; French is a plus
