Process & Machinery Safety Engineer The role is focused on driving process and machinery safety excellence across R&D and industrial projects at Nestlé Product Technology Center for Coffee. The engineer will collaborate closely with engineers, site and factory teams, managers, safety professionals, and subject matter experts to ensure safe‑by‑design implementation.
How you’ll make an impact as a Process & Machinery Safety Engineer
Leading process and machinery safety initiatives that strengthen safe‑by‑design practices across R&D and industrial projects.
Driving risk assessment and action follow‑through to help teams close gaps and implement safety improvements effectively.
Developing & deploying Coffee process safety guidelines, while building alignment across factories, engineering teams, and experts to turn safety priorities into measurable progress.
Delivering clear governance, structure, and momentum for safety‑related projects involving multiple stakeholders and sites.
Leading and facilitating reference HAZOP and ATEX studies across key technologies and processes.
Developing capability and ownership by coaching teams and supporting the consistent application of standards and guidelines.
Strengthening compliance by coordinating audits, reviews, and document updates that support continuous improvement.
What Will Make You Successful
Bringing strong engineering background and expertise in process and machinery safety in industrial environments, interacting with factories, suppliers (OEMs), and multi‑disciplinary teams to set clear actions & priorities.
Applying consistent knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, functional and machinery safety principles & design to complex industrial systems (thermal processes, fluid systems, automated equipment).
Applying project management and organizational skills to coordinate CAPEX projects, initiatives, track progress, and keep implementation on course.
Using influence, relationship‑building, and strong technical workshop facilitation skills (e.g., HAZOP studies) to engage & align stakeholders and move actions forward across functions.
Collaborating with humility, autonomy, and learning agility to work effectively with experts and navigate complex environments.
Communicating fluently in English, with the ability to translate complex notions into clear and effective messages for diverse stakeholders.
