Specialist Packaging Compliance (PPWR) - EN (all genders) Shape sustainable packaging compliance at Greiner Bio-One As Specialist Packaging Compliance (PPWR), you play a key role in ensuring that our packaging solutions meet current and future regulatory requirements. You combine regulatory expertise with a practical mindset, work in cross‑functional international teams, and actively contribute to sustainable packaging solutions that support our business and environmental goals.
Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret EU PPWR and related packaging regulations
Ensure compliance of packaging materials, design, labeling, and recyclability requirements
Translate regulatory requirements into internal guidelines and technical specifications
Manage compliance documentation, declarations, and technical files
Drive sustainable packaging initiatives together with R&D, Product Management, Production, and Procurement
Coordinate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements and reporting activities
Support cross‑functional international projects
Act as subject matter expert for packaging compliance and sustainable packing topics
Analyze packaging data, KPIs, and support ESG reporting activities
Support audits, supplier assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Your Profile
Higher technical education (University or University of Applied Sciences)
Minimum 3 years of experience in packaging development or packaging compliance
Experience with packaging regulations and technical requirements
Advanced SAP and Excel skills
Fluent English; German is an advantage
Project management experience in cross‑functional environments
Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or other regulated industries is a plus
Knowledge of MDR/IVDR packaging requirements is beneficial
Strong ownership, accountability, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business‑oriented solutions
Strong intercultural competence and ability to collaborate in global teams

You will work closely with colleagues across Sustainability, Packaging Development, Regulatory Affairs, Purchasing, R&D and Operations while further developing your expertise in this evolving field. In addition to our attractive employee benefits, the annual gross salary for this position in Austria starts at EUR 54,000.00 (minimum salary according to the Austrian chemical industry collective agreement), depending on your qualifications and experience. In other countries, compensation may vary according to local market conditions and legal requirements.
