Job Overview

Position: Deputy Supply Chain Manager – Airline Catering in Germany. Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager based in Munich, the role involves supporting supply chain strategy and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor supply chain strategies aligning with global market trends.
  • In cooperation with the Purchase Manager to source, engage and evaluate suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring quality, cost‑effectiveness, and on‑time delivery.
  • Oversee the company’s purchasing activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods at optimal prices.
  • Supervise inventory, maintaining the balance between optimal stock levels and minimized holding costs.
  • Analyze and refine supply chain procurement costs, highlighting avenues for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
  • Work in tandem with key internal stakeholders to project demand, ensuring the readiness of the supply chain.
  • Spearhead initiatives that foster supply chain and procurement efficiency, agility, and sustainability.
  • Ensure that purchases are made on time.
  • Cost management: buying the right products in the right quantities, etc.
  • Ensure that deliveries are in line with orders placed.
  • Manage the supply chain organization, including the warehouse in the unit in Munich.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in Supply Chain management, preferably within the food industry.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices.
  • Familiarity with supply chain software, including inventory management and forecasting tools.
  • Comfortable in using Excel and familiar with an ERP.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Negotiation and communication capabilities.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Ability and agility to adapt in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluent in English and German.
