Job Overview
Position: Deputy Supply Chain Manager – Airline Catering in Germany. Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager based in Munich, the role involves supporting supply chain strategy and procurement.
Responsibilities
- Monitor supply chain strategies aligning with global market trends.
- In cooperation with the Purchase Manager to source, engage and evaluate suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring quality, cost‑effectiveness, and on‑time delivery.
- Oversee the company’s purchasing activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods at optimal prices.
- Supervise inventory, maintaining the balance between optimal stock levels and minimized holding costs.
- Analyze and refine supply chain procurement costs, highlighting avenues for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
- Work in tandem with key internal stakeholders to project demand, ensuring the readiness of the supply chain.
- Spearhead initiatives that foster supply chain and procurement efficiency, agility, and sustainability.
- Ensure that purchases are made on time.
- Cost management: buying the right products in the right quantities, etc.
- Ensure that deliveries are in line with orders placed.
- Manage the supply chain organization, including the warehouse in the unit in Munich.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in Supply Chain management, preferably within the food industry.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices.
- Familiarity with supply chain software, including inventory management and forecasting tools.
- Comfortable in using Excel and familiar with an ERP.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Negotiation and communication capabilities.
- Valid driving license.
- Ability and agility to adapt in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Fluent in English and German.
