o Operational & Management Accounting (Budget, Forecast, Group Reporting).
This individual will lead day-to-day financial operations, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, ensuring compliance with Group policies and implementing appropriate internal controls. They will support with broader business planning and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, pro-active and excited to be embedded in a fast-paced, project-based environment within Sport and Entertainment.
This role will be based in Amberg with occasional travel to Starnberg near Munich.
TASKS:
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts for group reporting and for local leadership
- Lead the budgeting and reforecasting processes in alignment with group timelines
- Ensuring compliance with local tax legislation (employment, VAT, corporate taxes) through liaison with professional advisors
- Review and approval of monthly payroll
- Review and approval of operating expenses
- Supporting account managers in costing and reconciling projects
- Supporting shared service centre with cost coding, allocation and approvals
- Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed in alignment with group timelines
Strategic and Commercial Finance:
- Act as a business advisor to the Leadership on business planning, pricing, performance and investments
- Develop clear and concise variance analyses, margin reviews, and financial scenario modeling
- Support commercial teams with tracking and monitoring new business targets
- Working with client and sales teams to improve the results of the business, e.g. maximising gross profit, improving cashflow
- Support client and sales teams on new business efforts including RFP pricing, margin modelling, and deal support
Business Support and Audit:
- Prepare audit documentation and serve as the primary liaison for external and internal audits
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Manage risk-related items including liaison with group risk team to ensure appropriate insurance policies and documentation are in place
PROFIL:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluent in English and German
- Qualified accountant (WP, certified accountant ACCA or similar)
- 5+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in a creative, experiential, sports, or manufacturing environment
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP desirable
- Experience of preparing monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting
- Experience of working in multi-currency environment desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience of using Workday desirable
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and work collaboratively across departments
- Experience of working within a large group desirable
