Freelance - Lead Engineer Embedded Software Development:
Preferably Germany-based or remote within Europe
Technical expertise:
- Strong C programming skills, including memory management, concurrency, interrupts, low-level debugging, and performance optimisation
- Hardware-near software development and the ability to read schematics
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and protocols such as SPI, I²C, CAN, UART, and Ethernet
- Firmware architecture and modular software design
- Bootloaders, BSPs, device drivers, and secure firmware updates
- Watchdogs, fault handling, deterministic timing, power management, and resource-constrained systems
- Embedded cybersecurity: secure boot, code signing, threat modelling, and vulnerability management
- Embedded CI/CD, automated testing, and HIL testing
- Technical leadership responsibilities are expected
- Depending on experience
- Occasional travel to Neumünster, Germany
- 1st Octobre 2026
- 12 months contract + extension
