This role will be integrated into the Process development group, which focuses on optimising and advancing the electrochemical etching process to produce porous silicon layers. This includes understanding related upstream and downstream processes and working closely with the Separation and Wet chemical etching group and other process steps in the EpiNex process. The role also involves developing hardware tools with the Design Engineering department.

Tasks

  • Optimization and further development of the electrochemical etching process.
  • Cooperation with other groups to optimize the entire EpiNex process chain.
  • Recognizing and eliminating process inconsistencies.
  • Carrying out experiments and data analysis.
  • Cooperation with Design Engineering to optimize the hardware and the process accordingly.
  • Collaboration with external partners to further develop the electrochemical etching process.
  • Operation of industry-related process equipment and characterization tools.
  • Support department head in departmental administrative decision making, e.g. budgeting.

Requirements

  • Engineering or science degree (chemistry, physics, electrochemistry, applied science).
  • Practical experience of electrochemical processes.
  • Knowledge of process development.
  • Experience in wet chemistry.
  • Experience in silicon photovoltaics is an advantage.
  • Experience in handling/operating wet chemical and electrochemical machinery and equipment.
  • Fluency in English
