About the Role:
Gracenote maintains a database of global radio stations around the world, providing this data to auto manufacturers to enhance the radio experience in their cars. Gracenote’s team of entertainment information experts and data specialists supports our music and audio products and services. Your contributions to our team will help us increase content coverage in existing and emerging markets to give our customers a premium music metadata experience.
We are presently looking for an Editor focused on Radio, who will be part of our Music and Audio team in Europe. Gracenote’s Music and Audio content team is made up of music enthusiasts with a deep knowledge of regional listening trends.
Responsibilities:
- Execute quality control reviews for radio station information for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
- Act as subject matter expert for European radio listening habits, categories, and trends.
- Collaborate with Music & Audio team staff to execute quality control efforts for radio for other European and global regions.
- Work on ongoing projects for Quality or Coverage.
- Provide coverage for chat spaces, JIRA tickets, and customer inquiries as needed.
- Attend weekly meetings with Product and Engineering groups to discuss present-day issues or future developments for the editorial tool and the ingest processes.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation of workflows, tool use, and quality control.
- Learn and master internal Gracenote tools, technologies, data standards, and processes.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bi/multilingual – You must have a native or fluent level of German and be proficient in English. Other languages are a plus.
- Well-rounded knowledge of wide array of traditional and popular music and pop culture for the German language music and radio market.
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision, surfacing problems or issues as necessary.
- Detail-oriented with good judgment, critical thinking, and a strong capacity for spotting trends and/or anomalies.
- Excellent internet research skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with large amounts of data.
- High computer literacy and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Basic understanding of the current state of the radio and music business; previous experience with the radio industry or related media industry job is a plus.
- Fluency/familiarity with languages other than English & German is a plus.
- Experience with databases and other technological infrastructure is a plus.
- BA/BS degree required, or substantial equivalent experience.
