Based in our modern office and cleanroom facilities in Seehallen Horgen, right next to Lake Zürich, you will join an experienced, collaborative team dedicated to building next‑generation optical modules and demonstrators.

Tasks and responsibilities Support customer evaluations, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment between customer requirements and NILT’s optical solutions. Work closely with sales to ensure a good customer experience from the first contact to the signed contract.
Application Engineering Translate customer use cases into system‑level optical solutions and drive the performance, cost, and manufacturability tradeoffs and work closely with the product management team.
Demonstrator and Evaluation kit Development Build and test functional prototypes and evaluation kits in our hacker lab to validate concepts and showcase system capabilities to customers.
Module Development Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to define and refine optical module architectures — from camera systems to dot projectors, diffusers, and beyond.
Skills, experiences and qualifications we are looking for
MSc in Microengineering, Electronics, Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field
3+ years’ experience in optoelectronic device development or product management (preferably consumer applications)
Strong understanding of optics and optical systems
Experience with mechanical and/or optical design
Hands‑on experience with 3D printing for rapid prototyping
Programming skills, ideally Python (data analysis, automation, prototyping)
Independent, structured, and goal‑oriented mindset
Strong communication skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary setup
Willingness to travel for partner and customer engagements
Fluent in English; German is a plus
