For our Quality Team in Munich we are looking for a

Field Quality & Regulatory Engineer (m/f/x)

The Field Quality & Regulatory Engineer is responsible for managing field quality topics, regulatory compliance activities, and communication with automotive authorities and external stakeholders. The role acts as the key interface between Quality, Engineering, After Sales, Homologation, and regulatory authorities regarding product compliance, recalls, service campaigns, and market quality issues.

The position ensures compliance with global automotive regulations while supporting rapid issue resolution and continuous product improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor new automotive regulations, standards, and authority requirements
  • Evaluate regulatory impact on vehicle programs and products and coordinate internal alignment regarding regulatory changes
  • Support implementation of new legal and compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary contact for automotive authorities such as Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt, RDW, other EU and international regulatory agencies
  • Support escalation management for critical quality topics
  • Ensure report preparation, technical assessments, timely reporting and compliance documentation
  • Manage execution of service campaigns and recalls
  • Track quality KPIs and field performance trends
  • Manage audits and investigations

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Required Experience: Minimum Experience: 3+ years experience recommended
  • Preferred Industry Background

- Automotive OEM

- Tier-1 supplier

- Vehicle compliance/homologation

- Quality engineering/Product safety

  • Required Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of automotive quality processes

- Understanding of: recalls, service campaigns, field actions, warranty processes

- Familiarity with: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, 8D, FMEA, PPAP

- UNECE regulations

- EU vehicle compliance

- Product safety requirements

- Type approval / homologation processes

- Software update regulations (R156)

- Functional Safety awareness (ISO 26262)

  • Work Location: ideally Munich; Alternatives: Amsterdam or Oslo
