Having achieved profitable growth from a bootstrapped start, we are now investor-funded and scaling rapidly.

To support this exciting phase, we are building our in-house Backend Team and seeking a talented Backend Developer to join us.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance features for our core platform, including the shipping and fulfillment portal, carrier integrations, data import/export functionalities, and our proprietary APIs (Cross Border X, Return Module).
• Integrate new postal companies, carriers, and customer systems using diverse interfaces such as REST, EDI, and structured data feeds, treating each integration as a distinct project with visible results.
• Collaborate on the Customs Engine, implementing and adapting to new regulatory requirements (e. g., EU customs rules) alongside the development team.
• Ensure code quality through writing automated tests, actively participating in code reviews, and continuously growing professionally under the close guidance of our Lead Developer.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Media Informatics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional training.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in Backend Development with PHP; initial experience with a modern framework (Laravel or Symfony) is a plus, or a strong motivation to quickly learn and apply one.
• Basic knowledge of C/C++, ideally coupled with experience using libraries such as Image Magick and native network APIs (e. g., Berkeley Sockets).
• Good SQL knowledge, preferably with Postgre SQL or My SQL.
• Prior experience with REST APIs, both as a provider and a consumer.
• A strong understanding of responsive web design principles and UX optimization.
• Proficiency in version control systems (e. g., Git) and familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Enthusiasm for innovative technologies and a keen interest in AI applications.
• Demonstrated creativity, strong initiative, and the ability to independently overcome technical challenges, coupled with a meticulous and reliable working style.
• Excellent team spirit and communication skills; a strong willingness to learn, especially in gaining specialized knowledge of customs and logistics.
• Good proficiency in both German and English.
