Overview
In this role you will perform hands-on testing and validation of high-speed ADCs and DACs to enable next-gen optical transmission systems. You work in the lab, setting up measurements, analyzing results, and improving test methods in collaboration with ADC/DAC designers and DSP/ASIC teams. You will develop automated test setups in Python and help transition methods from development to manufacturing. This position offers impact through lab excellence and cross-location collaboration within Nokia’s optical networks ecosystem.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing and characterization of high-speed ADCs and DACs
- Set up and operate high-frequency/RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators)
- Execute measurements for standalone devices and DSP/ASIC-integrated solutions
- Develop and maintain automated test setups and scripts (Python)
- Analyze results to identify performance limits and anomalies
- Troubleshoot hardware, test setups, and measurement issues in the lab
- Collaborate with hardware teams to explain results and support debugging
- Improve test methodologies for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency
- Support transition of test methods to manufacturing and volume testing
- Collaborate with international Nokia teams
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
- Strong hands-on laboratory experience with electronic/RF test setups
- Experience testing and characterizing ADCs and/or DACs
- Experience with high-speed/high-frequency measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators)
- Good understanding of ADC/DAC performance and measurement methodologies
- Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting complex lab test setups
- Python programming for test automation and lab equipment control
- Basic understanding of digital signal processing and firmware/software interfaces
- Fluent written and spoken English
- German language skills are an advantage
