Overview

In this role you will lead the design and architecture of novel optical DWDM systems within Nokia's Optical Architecture group. You will shape hardware platforms and DWDM line systems in collaboration with systems, engineering, and software teams. You will tackle end-to-end design challenges, from hardware specs to software documentation, and showcase new transmission technologies to customers. Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Provide technical leadership for DWDM line system design
  • Align with Product Line Management on product requirements
  • Architect DWDM systems considering fiber transmission characteristics and OSNR evolution
  • Develop hardware specifications for line system cards (amplifiers, ROADMs, multiplexers)
  • Own detailed hardware and software design documentation for development, test, and field teams
  • Coordinate reviews with multi-site engineering teams
  • Support experimental analysis of component capabilities and platform feasibility
  • Demo new optical transmission technologies to key customers

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • Excellent foundational knowledge of DWDM systems and transmission fiber effects
  • Deep knowledge of DWDM hardware (EDFA, Raman, ROADMs, multiplexers)
  • Experience with long haul optical link design (power budgets, OSNR, penalties)
  • Knowledge of coherent modulation formats and their long haul transmission
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated team player with cross-functional and international teamwork experience
  • Ph.D. in Optics/Engineering/Physics + minimum 8 years of experience
  • M.Sc. in Optics/Engineering/Physics + minimum 12 years of experience
