Overview
As a standards professional within Nokia’s Optical Networks, you will drive standardization for cutting-edge optical transport features, collaborating with R&D and regional teams to align product directions with market needs. You’ll engage with industry bodies and lead initiatives that shape the future of optical networking. The role blends technical depth with strategic influence to enable scalable, standards-based solutions. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, delivering clear communications to engineers, executives, and customers.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and review standardization strategies for Optical Transport Infrastructure, Ethernet, and Physical Layer topics
- Collaborate with Product Line Managers and R&D to ensure Nokia product directions align with standards
- Represent Nokia in ITU-T, OIF, IEEE 802.3, and OpenROADM forums and contribute to working group activities
- Provide internal briefings on standardization progress and directions to R&D and PLMs
- Build relationships to influence executives and external stakeholders on standardization initiatives
- Identify and articulate how evolving business models affect product architecture and standards
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 5 years of telecom product experience in operator or equipment supplier environments
- 5 years of product management or consulting engineering/network architect experience with market requirements for Optical, Ethernet, and/or IP/MPLS solutions
- Proficiency with optical networking technologies (OTN, High-Speed Ethernet) and knowledge of IEEE, OIF, ITU-T, OpenROADM standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to present and deliver at standards meetings, conferences, and trade shows
- Strong consulting, negotiation, and leadership abilities to influence cross-functional teams
