Senior Project Manager - Consulting

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our consulting team in Germany.

You will own complex client projects across our managed and professional services portfolio, from first scope to final handover. You will hold the line on outcomes, budget, and quality, keep clients and delivery teams aligned when the path is unclear, and bring structure to problems that arrive without any. You are comfortable learning a new domain quickly and making the hard calls that keep a project moving.

This role is for someone who already works AI-first and can lift a team to the same standard. Not someone who occasionally asks a chatbot to tidy an email.

What you will do

• Own the client relationship. You are the person the client calls. You understand their business, align what we deliver with what they actually need, and build the kind of trust that turns one project into a partnership.
• Run the project end to end. You define scope and objectives with the client, plan the work, allocate the people, and steer delivery across every phase. You see risk early and act on it before it becomes a problem.
• Lead the team. You make sure the project has the right skills in the right seats, across departments and borders, and you lead in a way that builds ownership rather than dependence.
• Own the numbers. You steer your project for profitability, cash flow, and forecast quality. When actuals drift from plan, you find out why and correct it, working closely with finance and delivery leads.
• Raise the bar. You hold delivery to our standards, feed lessons learned back into how we work and keep improving the way the project runs rather than settling for how it started.
• Work AI-first and bring the team with you. You use AI hands-on in daily delivery, generating status reports, roadmaps, and KPIs from your project data and delegating defined analysis steps to AI agents you treat as working members of the process, always within client governance and policy constraints. Most of all, you make the method reusable: the prompts, workflows, and shared context documented so a colleague can run the same step the same way. We want the capability to belong to the team, not live in one person's head.

What you bring

• A track record leading complex client projects, ideally in consulting with several stakeholders in play. A working command of both classical and agile methods, and the judgment to know when each one fits. You stay close to the client, think in solutions, and own the result. You move through organizations without needing everything defined for you.
• You can hold your ground when contracts and change requests get tense and represent our commercial interests under pressure. You like numbers, and you work with them daily — producing them, understanding them, and tracking them, because at Nortal that is not optional. You manage risk in a structured way, and when the load gets too high you prioritize, delegate, and ask for help rather than going quiet.
• You are self-empowering: you build the knowledge you need, recognize what will make you successful, and do not wait to be taught. You are ready to travel for client meetings and the occasional team gathering. You negotiate and communicate with confidence in German (C1). You are comfortable working in English every day and happy to use it. Your written communication is precise and professional.
• You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline).

Nice to have

Experience in the public sector. Experience responding to public tenders or competitive bids. A project management certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Prince2 Practitioner or an AI-first / AI-in-PM qualification. Experience contributing to bids, proposals, or statements of work. A background in consulting or professional services.
