Overview

We're looking for a senior industrial operations leader who can turn shop-floor signals into autonomous, AI-enabled decisions- and into fundable business cases.

As a Value Architect, Industrial Operations & Manufacturing Intelligence, you'll bridge the gap between the factory floor and the boardroom. One day you might be discussing IT/OT integration and asset performance with plant engineers; the next you'll be helping a COO or CTO prioritise investments that improve yield, OEE, energy efficiency and operational resilience.

Working alongside our sales and account teams, you'll shape opportunities rather than simply respond to them. You bring the industrial expertise, technical credibility and commercial judgement to define the right solution, drawing on Nortal's full portfolio of AI, data, cloud and business transformation capabilities. From the first client conversation through to delivery, you'll help manufacturing organisations achieve measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic conversations with manufacturing executives and operational stakeholders, translating operational ambition into fundable value cases.
  • Shape transformation programmes spanning industrial AI, IT/OT integration, MES, OEE, predictive maintenance, digital twins, edge computing and operational analytics.
  • Partner closely with sales and account teams to qualify opportunities, shape solutions and provide technical credibility throughout the sales process.
  • Help clients identify the highest-value investment opportunities, improving yield, energy efficiency, asset performance and operational uptime.
  • Lead workshops, assessments and discovery engagements that establish clear transformation roadmaps.
  • Support delivery as a Solution Architect on programmes you help originate, ensuring business outcomes remain at the centre of delivery.
  • Collaborate with Nortal's wider network of Value Architects and subject matter experts to bring together the right capabilities for each client.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of Nortal's industrial practice.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience within industrial operations, manufacturing or industrial consulting.
  • Strong expertise in IT/OT integration, MES, OEE, asset performance management, predictive maintenance and industrial operations technology.
  • Practical experience applying AI, automation or advanced analytics within manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to build compelling business cases and engage confidently with both plant-floor teams and C-level executives.
  • Comfortable working alongside sales teams, bringing technical leadership and commercial insight without owning the commercial relationship.
  • Experience navigating complex enterprise portfolios and identifying the most appropriate solution for each client challenge.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Experience in industries such as automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, utilities, building materials or oil & gas is highly desirable.
