Overview
In this role you advance AI-driven drug discovery by designing and applying cutting-edge ML models to multi-modal biomedical data. You will work within the Oncology Data Science team to generate predictive insights that support target and biomarker discovery, biomolecular modeling, and drug development. You’ll explore foundational and generative AI approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote ML-ready data practices. Success means scientific contributions and influential results at conferences and publications. This is a mission-driven opportunity to push the boundaries of AI in oncology at Novartis.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Design, develop and deploy advanced ML algorithms and AI models to extract insights from pre-clinical, clinical and real-world data
- Demonstrate value of AI techniques in target identification, biomolecular modeling and biomarker discovery
- Work with foundational, self-supervised, multi-modal models to advance generative AI in drug discovery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish ML-ready data practices
- Contribute to scientific publications and present results at conferences
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Ph.D. in relevant field
- Strong experience in generative AI, biomedical foundation models, geometric deep learning, multi-modal learning, knowledge graphs
- Proficiency in PyTorch and ability to learn new tools
- Experience with ML and LLM software stack including feature engineering, model development, deployment and validation
- Experience with omics data and familiarity with oncology drug development
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional storytelling
- Strong research track record with publications in ML/AI venues
