Overview
In this role you will lead data science and software engineering efforts to transform ADME/PK data into actionable insights for drug discovery. You’ll collaborate with PKS and Data & Digital teams to build scalable analytics applications and reusable workflows that accelerate lead optimization. You’ll apply ML, statistics, and robust software practices to translate complex biological data into decision-enabling solutions. The role balances hands‑on delivery with shaping fit-for-purpose in silico methods and data platforms, contributing to translational medicine goals.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Represent Modeling & Simulation Data Science on discovery and lead optimization programs with scientific input
- Collaborate with Data & Digital and PKS teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions
- Design, build, and maintain scalable applications, workflows, and data pipelines
- Develop, evaluate, and deploy ML and statistical models for structure–property and PK/PD relationships
- Apply data mining, visualization, and exploratory analysis to derive insights from complex datasets
- Create region- or modality-specific in silico models and data strategies for faster compound progression
- Write production-quality code with version control, testing, and documentation standards
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions
- Promote adoption of in-house tools and data science methods across Translational Medicine and PKS
- Stay current with AI/ML advances and bring appropriate innovations into practice
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or quantitative field
- PhD with 5+ years or MSc with 8+ years of relevant experience in data science for drug discovery or translational research
- Strong expertise in ML, statistics, and reproducible data science workflows
- Proficiency in Python and/or R with robust software development practices
- Experience designing, developing, deploying robust analytical applications or ML systems
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and translate concepts for scientists
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities
- Good understanding of ADME, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or related translational data
