Logistics Manager in Stuttgart

We are recruiting an experienced Logistics Manager for an international manufacturing company in the Stuttgart Area, Germany.

The Role

You will oversee the flow of materials from inbound delivery through production supply to finished goods dispatch. Working closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, Sales and Finance, you will translate business priorities into effective logistics operations.

Alongside managing day-to-day performance, you will deliver improvements across warehousing, transportation, inventory and logistics systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead inbound logistics, warehousing, production supply and outbound shipping.
• Ensure material availability for production and on-time delivery to customers.
• Improve inventory accuracy, stock levels and material flow, including finished goods.
• Manage transport providers and warehouse service partners, monitoring service quality and performance.
• Define and monitor logistics KPIs, investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement across logistics processes, productivity and service reliability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable transport, customs and safety requirements.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts with Finance and Controlling.
• Support ERP improvements and strengthen logistics data and process accuracy.
• Lead, coach and develop the logistics team, setting clear priorities and accountability.
• Collaborate across functions to resolve supply constraints and align logistics capacity with production and customer requirements.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Manufacturing logistics leadership: Substantial experience managing logistics operations within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Operational expertise: Demonstrated responsibility for warehousing, transportation, inventory management and material flow.
• People management: Proven experience directly leading and developing operational teams.
• German and English fluency: Ability to lead teams, manage operational issues and communicate confidently with stakeholders in both languages.
• On-site availability: Availability to work on-site in the Stuttgart Area, Germany.
• ERP experience: Practical experience using an ERP system to manage logistics processes and operational performance.
• Relevant qualification: A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification.

• A track record of measurable improvements in delivery performance, inventory accuracy, productivity or logistics costs.
• Experience in automotive, Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial components or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• A hands-on leadership style, balancing immediate operational demands with longer-term improvements.
• Confidence collaborating across departments in an international organisation.
