Overview Designated Signatory (WvP) and Medical Advisor – Category: Medical Affairs
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Are you an experienced medical affairs professional with scientific expertise and knowledge in promotional compliance who thrives at the intersection of medical affairs and commercial strategy? This dual role at Novo Nordisk Pharma AG could be your next defining move.
Your new role As Designated Signatory (Werbeverantwortliche Person) and Medical Advisor, you will combine two areas of responsibility central to Novo Nordisk in Switzerland: safeguarding the compliance and quality of promotional activities, and providing deep scientific expertise across our cardiometabolic portfolio. You will act as an independent voice on promotional sign-off, while collaborating with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders and internal teams to advance medical understanding of our products.
Your responsibilities
Serving as designated signatory according to the Swiss Pharmaceutical Code of Conduct (Pharmakodex 62.3, 63.1, 63.2) and Art. 25 Abs. 1 Arzneimittelwerbeverordnung – reviewing, certifying and signing off promotional materials based on informed, independent decisions and sound risk assessment
Setting and enforcing internal standards for accuracy, validity and adequacy of promotional content, owning local SOP Q101033 and training staff on prescription drug promotion rules
Providing high-quality medical and scientific support, education and training to healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders and internal colleagues in the cardiometabolic space
Developing and delivering presentations at local meetings, symposia and external conferences, and supporting or organising advisory boards
Handling medical information and literature requests, and creating standard medical slide kits and scientific updates for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, Ethics & Compliance and the Pharmacode Secretary to ensure alignment between scientific integrity and commercial strategy
Your department You will join the Medical Affairs team at Novo Nordisk Pharma AG in Switzerland, reporting directly to the Director of Medical Affairs. It is a close-knit, cross-functional environment where scientific excellence, compliance and commercial ambition come together — and where your independent expertise will influence how our cardiometabolic portfolio is understood and used across the country.
Your skills & qualifications We are looking for a scientifically curious, principled professional who can balance independence with strong collaboration across functions. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
A university degree in Natural Sciences (PhD preferred) or Medicine
Ideally more than 3 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably within Medical Affairs
Solid knowledge of cardiometabolic diseases and a genuine passion for science and medicine, with the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex scientific data
Strong communication and presentation skills, with a self-starting personality and a high level of ownership and accountability
Fluency in German and English; familiarity with Swiss regulatory frameworks (HMG, AWV, Pharmakodex) is a strong advantage
Working at Novo Nordisk Every day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases. To do this, we approach our work with determination, constant curiosity and a commitment to finding better ways forward. For over 100 years, this dedication has driven us to build a company focused on lasting change for long-term health. One where diverse thinking, shared purpose and mutual respect come together to create extraordinary results. When you join us, you\'re not just starting a job – you\'re becoming part of a story that spans generations.
What we offer There is, of course, more on offer here than the uniqueness of our culture and the extraordinary results we produce. Being part of a global healthcare company means opportunities to learn and develop are all around us, while our benefits are designed with your career and life stage in mind.
