Novocure’s commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel. Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications – non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer and other types of solid cancers.

Novocure Poland is our newest office in Europe and you will be part of a global business services team supporting multiple business functions including finance and payroll and located in Krakow. The global business services organization within Novocure Poland is critical to Novocure’s efforts to drive process efficiency, standardizations and drive greater business value as the company prepares for future growth.

To support our team in Krakow, Poland we are looking for an:

Payroll Support Specialist EMEA

(1 year temporary contract)

The Payroll Support Specialist EMEA is responsible for the overall operation of the EMEA payroll function for a selection of countries, including Switzerland, Germany, Poland, France, Sweden, Austria, UK, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, and Belgium. This role involves payroll coordination and processing through third-party vendors, supporting expansion into new regions, and managing compensation and benefits-related topics. The position is located in Krakow, Poland.

Your responsibilities:

  • Processing payrolls for a selection of countries within EMEA (headcount currently: 200 employees across 12 EMEA countries) according to applicable laws and regulations, with support from an external payroll provider.
  • This includes:
  • Monthly payroll processes
  • Month-end close activities
  • Year-end activities (e.g. various declarations, annual salary statements and processes)
  • Ensuring compliance with local payroll providers for mandatory local requirements and implementing legal changes as needed
  • Managing social security, taxes and other social insurances with respective vendors and the payroll provider
  • Supporting the payroll vendor transition from local vendors to a new global payroll vendor
  • Proactively optimizing processes and operations to comply with internal and external policies and regulations and improve payroll processes
  • Responding to payroll queries in a timely manner and aligning responses with company values
  • Supporting the auditing of Payroll activities (e.g. SOX, OR, Social Security)
  • Assisting the wider HR EMEA and Global HR organization with projects and ad hoc requests
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Collaborating successfully with internal and external stakeholders across the organization globally

Your profile:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or HR-related field or equivalent

  • Strong proficiency in English

  • 1-2 years of experience in payroll, HR admin, and/or compensation & benefits within EMEA

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast paced multicultural and rapidly changing environment

  • Knowledge of employment law, social insurances and tax regulations of relevant EMEA countries is a plus

  • Advanced Excel knowledge is a significant advantage

  • Knowledge of Success Factors is a plus

  • Demonstrates initiative and a problem-solving mindset with a hands-on attitude for investigating and finding solutions
