As Chief Accountantyou will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our German operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reporting & Closing Activities
- Preparation and ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS
- Internal and external financial reporting
- Support in the preparation of consolidation packages
Accounting
- Overall responsibility for the accurate and timely execution of operational accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory accounting and general ledger accounting
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, accounting standards, internal policies and procedures
Operational Accounting Activities
- Preparation and posting of closing entries, provisions, accruals, revenue recognition entries and tax-related postings
- Monitoring of credit limits and oversight of payment transactions
Audit & Compliance
- Cooperation with external auditors, tax auditors, tax advisors and relevant authorities
- Ensuring that financial processes and documentation meet statutory and internal compliance requirements
Management Collaboration
- Acting as a key interface between internal and external stakeholders
- Close cooperation with Headquarters, the Managing Director and local management
- Active coordination and management of finance-related topics across the organisation
Coaching & Team Development
- Coaching and supporting team members on specific accounting topics
- Contributing to the continuous development of the accounting function
- Promoting the exchange and implementation of best practices
Process Optimisation
- Managing and driving process improvement and digitalisation initiatives
- Continuously reviewing and further developing accounting processes and workflows

Qualifications:
Your Profile:
Ideally, you bring:
- A successfully completed university degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance, or completed vocational training with an additional qualification as a Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK), or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable position within an international company
- Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with SAP R/3 (FI/CO/AA); experience with SAP S/4HANA would be an advantage
- Business-fluent in English, German language nice to have
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of numerical proficiency
- A precise, conscientious and reliable working style

- Strong communication skills, flexibility and a collaborative mindset
- Motivation and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges in a successful German company operating within an international group environment
- Current residence within the European Union is a mandatory requirement. Candidates residing outside the EU will not be considered.
