Instrument & Controls Engineer – Stein, Switzerland

The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer will report directly to the Automation Technical Lead and is responsible for providing hands-on support to the commissioning and qualification of the Utility and HVAC Systems installed at the site in Stein. The I&C Engineer will provide hands-on support and management for the Testing Team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide I&C field support for the commissioning and qualification of the following utility and process systems which are monitored and controlled by the DeltaV DCS:
  1. Black and Clean Utility generation, storage and distribution systems.
  2. Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning for the classified and non-classified areas within the site manufacturing and utility areas.
  3. Environmental Monitoring System.
  4. Compounding and SIP/CIP system.
  • Review and support execution of the Hot Loop Test protocols including the following test steps:
    1. Wago remote IO interface and communication testing
    2. Emerson CIOC remote IO panels
    3. Field instrumentation
    4. Interface testing between package units.
    5. Alarm and Interlock Testing.
    6. Emergency Stop Verification (hardwired circuits).
  • Support the commissioning of the Modbus networks to the following equipment items:
    1. Emergency Stop Verification (hardwired circuits).
    2. Variable speed drives
    3. Wago Remote IO Controllers.
    4. Package Units
  • Provide back-up support to the Hot Loop Testing Supervisor for day-to-day management and support of the Hot Loop Testing contractor.
  • Experience:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Process Control, or related field)
    2. 5 – 10 years of industrial commissioning experience with Electrical and Instrument systems, with 3 years Utility system commissioning experience
    3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of the I&C Commissioning team.
    4. Experience using Kneat for CQV test execution
    5. Fluent English language written and verbal communication skills.

    cGMP knowledge and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
