Role: Desktop Support Engineer
The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing end-user support, hands-on hardware and software support, and collaborating with business users and stakeholders to ensure efficient support without disrupting business operations. The role requires practical experience in support services.
Responsibilities
- Advise and present to customer staff as needed.
- Monitor and manage daily service calls, resource utilization, inventory, and service levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrate advanced customer service aptitude.
- Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot customer problems while maintaining service level agreements.
- Participate in configuring and supporting internal systems.
- Work effectively with logistics teams.
- Adhere to schedules and documented policies, procedures, and processes.
- Document all customer interactions clearly and concisely within CRM tools.
- Work well within a team environment.
- Maintain knowledge of industry advancements.
- Support the installation and implementation of connectivity and high-end system products.
- Continuously improve service delivery.
- Manage time and resources to meet or exceed expectations.
Qualifications
Work Experience: Over 24 months
Knowledge in:
- English (written and verbal) and the local language.
- Computer hardware and peripherals, including printers.
- Common software applications and Microsoft Operating Systems.
- Networking, wireless, and VPN configurations and troubleshooting.
- Ticketing software.
Additional awareness of:
- Active Directory
- Exchange
- Apple OS
- Network and server hardware
IT certifications may include:
- A+ Certification or OEM certifications (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Lexmark, IBM, Server+)
- PC/Laptop OEM Maintenance Certification
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
