We're supporting a leading international energy and mobility company in the search for a SAP FI Key-User / Finance Process Specialist to join their Finance team.

About the Role

As part of a specialist 4-person Finance team, you will support Accounting, Finance and business stakeholders by ensuring financial processes, SAP solutions and related systems work together effectively and act as the vital bridge between accounting users and the IT department.

This is a highly dynamic, hybrid role. You won’t just be monitoring standard systems; you will actively help define how high-volume retail transactions, fuel card systems, and consumer payment apps integrate seamlessly and compliantly into the global SAP landscape. It is a perfect blend of handling day-to-day accounting flows, advising on process shortcuts, and translating business requirements to IT developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as SAP FI Key-User and primary contact for Finance and Accounting stakeholders.
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for new digital features (e.g., billing features in customer apps, invoice workflows).
• Map out and test end-to-end data flows (from App/POS systems through to final General Ledger posting) to ensure compliance, transparency, and traceability.
• Support system testing, releases, and software rollouts (including prepare-phases for future S/4HANA transitions).
• Collaborate closely with internal IT teams and external SAP service providers to speak “the same language.”
• Support ongoing Accounting and Finance activities (e.g., month‑end closing support) during peak business periods.

Must-Have Skills

• Completed commercial, accounting or finance-related qualification
• Several years of experience within Accounting, Finance or Financial Controlling
• Strong SAP FI experience, ideally as a Key-User or process expert
• Excellent understanding of Accounting processes and financial data flows
• Strong process-oriented mindset
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
• Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented working style
• German language skills at C1 level or above
• English language skills at B1 level or above

Nice-to-Have Skill's

• Strong touchpoints with SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) or an understanding of billing/condition interfaces between SD and FI.
• Experience with invoice workflow solutions or SAP add-ons (e.g., EASY Software, xSuite, OpenText).
• An analytical “gut‑feeling” for process inconsistencies, particularly regarding VAT/Umsatzsteuer compliance.
• Initial exposure to or curiosity about the SAP backend / Customizing (knowing where logic is driven in the system, even if you aren't doing the hard coding yourself)
