• What your day will look like
• Main Responsibilities

As part of the Systems Engineering team, you will take on a dedicated DBA role focused on the operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of our database platforms:

• Take responsibility for the administration, stability, and continuous optimization of Microsoft SQL Server environments, including Postgre SQL platforms used within our customer solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of the dependencies between applications and databases to continuously improve performance, stability, and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with other DBA across different continents to ensure consistent standards, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of database systems across cloud and co-location environments.
• Perform routine maintenance including patching, upgrades, backups, recovery testing, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, replication, and operational issues.
• Support software releases and deployments from a database perspective.
• Implement automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Work closely with Systems Engineers, Dev Ops, SRE and application teams to support database-related requirements.
• Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to maintain industry-leading security standards.
• Participate in on-call support, incident resolution, and escalation management.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
• Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
• What you need to fulfill the role
• Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and Postgre SQL environments in production.
• Ability to work effectively in an international and collaborative team environment.
• Solid SQL and T-SQL knowledge including performance tuning, query optimisation, backup, recovery, replication, and high availability.
• Experience with modern database infrastructure in cloud and self-managed environments
• Interest or experience in leveraging Agentic AI and AI-assisted operational technologies for database administration
• Understanding of database security, access management, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Strong communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn modern technologies and continuously improve processes through automation and standardisation.
• English speaking.
