Are you an experienced Payroll Team Lead / Payroll Manager with strong hands-on expertise in German payroll, payroll tax and social security law?
We are currently looking for an experienced Teamleiter (m/w/d) Payroll to lead a team of 8 payroll specialists and take ownership of daily payroll operations for a well-established and growing payroll services company.
Berlin | Hybrid – up to 2 days home office per week
40 hours/week | Permanent position
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 8 payroll specialists
- Oversee daily payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely monthly payroll runs
- Support your team with payroll systems, processes and complex payroll topics
- Ensure compliance with German payroll tax and social security regulations
- Drive automation, standardisation and continuous process improvements
- Work closely with IT to implement and optimise digital payroll solutions
- Collaborate with HR, Sales, Support and Software Development teams
- Contribute to strategic and cross-functional payroll projects
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience leading a payroll team
- 2+ years of hands-on German payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of German payroll tax and social security law
- Practical experience with payroll software
- German C1 or above, both written and spoken
- Hands-on, analytical and solution-oriented approach
- Strong digital mindset and interest in process optimisation
- Experience with SBS Lohn is a strong advantage, but not mandatory.
- Good English skills are also welcome.
