Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) in Ulm

Your mission

• Conceptual work in collaboration with systems, electical, mechanical engineers. You understand the device concept and are able to derive mechanical requirements.
• You collaborate across disciplines with scientists and engineers but own the trade-offs and detailed mechanical technical decisions.
• Design mechanical parts and subassemblies for research activities, proof-of-concept prototypes and in-house scientific instruments.
• Establish mechanical engineering design standards, documented workflows and guidelines and best practices.
• Work with manufacturers and suppliers to support fabrication and component selection.
• Assemble and test subassemblies and parts.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
• At least 6 years of industry experience
• Experience with materials for pharmaceutical or medical devices is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in design, fabrication, assembly and testing.
• Experience defining mechanical engineering standard of work and internal best practices, including design reviews, drawing and tolerancing conventions, revision control and verification practices
• Solid CAD experience with experience with Onshape a plus.
