The opportunity

EY’s Transactions Corporate Finance (TCF) department is a unique nexus between the corporate finance and the M&A transactions landscape, with a focus on Transaction Diligence, Valuation, Modeling & Economics and mid-size M&A Advisory. When starting at EY TCF, you will encounter a wide range of experience during your first years. You will be staffed across sectors and experiencing different domains (type of projects and deliverables like Due Diligence, Valuations, Financial Modeling or M&A Lead Advisory). This sets a broad foundation of knowledge and allows you to become a well-rounded transaction advisor with both technical excellence and deep sector understanding as your career progresses. In order to reinforce our growing TCF team in Zurich, we are currently looking for a Consultant (entry position).

Skills and attributes for success

1. Completed university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or in a STEM field;
2. A strong interest for transactions and corporate finance, ideally demonstrated through previous work experience or internships (i.e. 1 to 3 years) in the Transaction/Corporate Finance department of a bank, a Private Equity fund, a consulting firm, or a Big4;
3. Interest in or experience of working with international clients including working with multiple accounting standards including IFRS, US GAAP and other local standards;
4. Good communication and presentation skills in English AND German, both verbally and in writing, are a must. Additional knowledge in either French or Italian is welcomed;
5. Knowledge of analytical tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI as well as a high level of Microsoft office skills (Excel and PowerPoint);
6. Sharp analytical thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, common sense and a sense of humor;
7. Exceptional team player who is able to work with people at all levels in an organization;
8. Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas;
9. Enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity.
