Requirements

- A one-year probationary period may be required.

- Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
A bachelor's degree or higher which included a major course of study or at least 24 semester hours in physical education.
- All of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:
- Experience in the planning, supervision, administration, or delivery of a sports or physical education program which included a variety of individual and team sports.
- Experience in providing skills development and teaching the techniques of various sports.
- Experience coaching multiple sports or providing coaches with sports- specific training in coaching techniques and required skills/fundamentals.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Experience in the planning, evaluation, or delivery of a sports program or curriculum specifically for children or youth;
- or at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i. e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.)
This experience must be clearly defined on your resume to be considered for Highly Preferred status. Highly Preferred applicants may be sent first for consideration.

Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total.
