  • Supervises an assigned team consisting of up to twelve ratios children/youth comprised of direct care professionals and volunteers.

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and subsequent physicals, thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease.
  • Must complete all Do D and Service training requirements within the specified time including orientation, initial, and annual ongoing training requirements, and any required certifications.
  • Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Incumbent must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The incumbent must have the visual and auditory capabilities to supervise children and youth, to comply with sight and sound supervision requirements and to provide immediate responses when applicable.
  • Incumbent is legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse.

Education

Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.

Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.

A combination of education and experience.

Education

Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience.

Experience

  • Six months experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs.
  • Experience managing in a classroom setting within child and youth programs.
  • Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.

Proof of education is required at the time of application.

Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled.

General Education courses do not count toward the credit total.

All higher education diplomas must specify major course of study. Transcripts are to be provided if your diploma does not meet the requirement.

FOREIGN EDUCATION
