Oelschläger produces and distributes aluminium products from Brüggen-Bracht in Germany’s Lower Rhine region for industrial customers throughout Europe, particularly in the steel and chemical industries. As an Accountant, you will manage day-to-day accounting, support financial reporting and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Working closely with the CFO, you will maintain reliable controls and help develop and digitalise our financial processes and systems.
Your responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for financial accounting, including payroll accounting.
- Process general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable entries and keep financial data up to date.
- Process payments, reconcile bank accounts and follow up outstanding receivables.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing and independently prepare financial reports, including all accruals, provisions and depreciation.
- Prepare German VAT returns and coordinate foreign reporting obligations.
- Prepare tax documentation and audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and controls.
- Independently digitalise and further develop financial processes and systems.
What you bring
- 5–10 years of professional experience in German accounting and finance, ideally also in an international environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP software is a strong advantage.
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent German and English language skills.
- An independent, reliable and flexible approach to work.
