For temporary employment of 12 months , Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg is looking for a Group Lead Propulsion – Stage 3 (m/f/d).

Our international and agile team is searching for a motivated group lead to lead the stage 3 propulsion team.

Your Tasks

  • Lead a small team of engineers focused on the 3rd stage propulsion, thermal control and fluidics.
  • Responsible for the 3rd stage fluidic & thermal control system.
  • Responsible for the testing and acceptance testing of the 3rd stage.
  • Responsible for AIT operations of the 3rd stage.
  • Hands-on setup of test benches and necessary testing infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Develop test procedures and analyse test results.
  • Support the development of new propulsion design based on real test data.
  • Perform design, analysis and development engineering tasks for various propulsion systems.
  • Use various testing, analysis, modelling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
  • Interface propulsion, thermal control and fluidics system to other departments.
  • Creation of medium to long term timelines for development of the stage 3 subsystems.

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 4+ years work experience in space propulsion systems and managing small to medium sized teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the basic principles of compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, and pressurized components.
  • Experienced in the design of Injectors and Thrust Chambers.
  • Experienced in testing of bipropellant liquid engines.
  • Excellent knowledge of physics, engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Siemens NX is a plus.
  • Hands-on workshop experience is beneficial.
  • Fluent English oral and written (all day-to-day activities are performed in English).
  • Self-independent, a structured way of working and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
