Overview
In this role you design, implement, and operate highly available MS SQL Server environments within a large enterprise, driving improvements across the database stack. You will lead database upgrades, lifecycle projects, and performance optimisations while advising stakeholders on architecture. You also support application integration and participate in on-call rotations, contributing to a resilient data backbone. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic guidance in a hybrid Zurich setting.

- Design, implement, and maintain highly available MS SQL Server environments (with exposure to other databases)
- Lead database engineering, upgrade, and lifecycle projects
- Optimise performance, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery
- Advise internal stakeholders on database architecture and best practices
- Support application integration and participate in on-call rotation

- 5+ years of strong MS SQL Server experience
- Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
