Data Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a seasoned and hands-on data engineer with proven experience in data architecture. Your main tasks will include:

1. Process analysis: learn business processes and document flows from the functional experts at the source (e.g. SAP, Salesforce.com)
2. Data pipeline development: build ETL processes & real-time data processing pipelines by leveraging agile practices with later automation in mind (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Matillion)
3. Data warehousing: design and model the data warehouse curated zone and optimize for business value and efficiency, specifically Data Vault, preferably on Snowflake
4. Collaboration and communication: work with BI specialists and IT experts & document data processes and architectures in our data catalog (e.g. Collibra)
5. Community enablement: share your knowledge with business stakeholders and technical experts

Ideally you bring the following qualifications:

1. Preference for agile software development practices
2. Proven ability to design scalable and efficient data models, specifically but not exclusively leveraging Data Vault
3. Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, and SQL
4. Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and ETL tools
5. Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
6. Expertise in Microsoft Azure, understanding strengths and weaknesses of the platform
7. Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric
8. Use of Git and CI/CD pipelines
9. Independent and solution driven way of working
10. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
11. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
