Human Factors Engineer (m/f/d)

Olympus Winter & Ibe GmbH (OWI) | Chief Technology Officer

  1. Conduct use research to understand patient and user needs and to stay up to date with the latest medical device technology and industry trends.
  2. Communicate research findings and (usability) testing results to cross-functional design and development teams for medical devices, software, equipment, and instruments.
  3. Conduct and manage the execution of formative and summative evaluations to ensure products meet design specifications and are safe for use in medical settings.
  4. Create human factors engineering documentation such as use specifications, use-related risk assessments, test plans, and reports.
  5. Follow design control processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as FDA and ISO requirements.
  6. Collaborate with external designers, usability test agencies, and recruiters.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Human Factors / Usability Engineering, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or within a related field.
  2. 3-5+ years of experience in human factors engineering or usability engineering, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  3. Deep knowledge of related FDA and ISO regulations for medical devices and experience with design control processes.
  4. Fluent language skills in German and English.
  5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
