Staff Software Engineer - Fullstack

Our wholesale business is growing and expanding globally, and we’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help scale On’s B2B operations. In this role, you’ll be based in our Berlin office, as the direct report of our Head of Engineering in the B2B domain collaborating closely with the product team and key stakeholders in Zurich to improve and grow our B2B commerce systems using the latest technology.

Your Mission

• As the most senior software engineer in a tech domain: B2B wholesale and GTM, own and contribute to all of our B2B (from web-based B2B commerce portal to our mobile based sell-in and merchandising tools) projects that significantly impact our Sales enablement within the organization.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering teams to provide guidance on how to build and scale the system, raising the bar of code quality and scalability.
• Work daily within multiple cross functional teams to make sure our features are being delivered in the timely manner and conduct experiments aligned with the product vision.
• Streamline the work of the engineering team and contribute to improving productivity.
• Meanwhile, as a member in our tech lead guild bring the bridge between the guild and feature streams.
• Involving product conversations and take ownership in cases where there are lots of unknowns and open questions.

Your story

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the software development (with a broad tech spectrum focus across Web technology to the system architecture).
• Minimum of 6 years experience with web development (both frontend and backend).
• You should already act in a senior / tech leadership role as an individual contributor in your current company.
• Solid experience on TypeScript, Next.js and Node.js is a must-have.
• Production experience with design Rest APIs and best practices of web frontend design.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical and product problems.
• Experience in training and mentoring developers to improve their technical skills and knowledge.
• Team player and solid communication skill using English, German is not required.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge / Experience with D365 is a big plus.
• Solid knowledge on the database performance, system architecture design.
• Experience with event driven architectures is a nice to have.
• Experience with working in a fast-paced environment.
