Overview
In this role you operate as the 2nd Line of Defense, shaping the bank's risk management and control framework in line with Swiss and European financial market laws. You will collaborate with Legal, PM, IT, and front desks to monitor risk, implement policies, and ensure regulatory compliance. You’ll lead audits, regulatory research, and interpretation of laws to support risk-based decisions. You engage stakeholders at all levels and provide clear status updates and risk-based recommendations. This position offers meaningful impact in regulatory risk governance and cross-functional liaison in a global bank context.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Act as the 2nd LoD owner for risk management and control framework; establish policies, standards, methods, and processes under applicable laws
- Support 1st LoD by assessing risks, defining policies, and monitoring compliance in multiple languages
- Develop guidelines for the 2nd LoD and monitor the risk profile; assess effectiveness of 1st LoD controls with Legal, PM, IT, and front desks
- Conduct audits, regulatory research, and interpret Swiss and international regulatory laws to inform decisions
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and manage issues to timely resolution
- Act as primary point of contact for stakeholders and senior management to align expectations and requirements
- Provide regular status updates and management reports highlighting key risks and dependencies
- Engage in ad hoc projects as needed
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Master’s degree in law; licensed to practice law in Switzerland as an attorney
- Fluency in German, English, and Italian (preferred) or French
- Experience in compliance within international banks or Big Four/international risk consulting
- Experience with audit or control of regulatory compliance (processes and controls)
- Strong analytical skills; solution-oriented, independent work style
- Resilience under stress; reliable and flexible
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across levels of seniority
- Proficiency with IT and banking systems; solid MS Office usage
