As Head of Tech Strategic Initiatives, you’ll build and lead a high-performing PMO function, ensuring On’s strategic tech initiatives are delivered with clarity, pace, and precision. You’ll operate across functions, time zones, and disciplines — making sure our bold ideas become reality.
Your mission
- Run the PMO for Technology: Own and lead the Technology Project Management Office, setting the rhythm, tools, and governance to deliver complex, cross-functional programmes globally
- Deliver Strategic Tech Programmes: Take ownership of major transformation initiatives such as AI acceleration, enterprise planning systems, data modernisation, and global technology enablement. Define roadmaps, lead planning, and ensure execution stays on track
- Build and Coach the programme management Team: Hire, develop, and lead a team of technical programme managers who can operate across functions and disciplines. Provide coaching and structure without creating overhead
- Governance & Executive Reporting: Establish strong governance practices and deliver clear, actionable reporting to the CTO, tech leadership, and executive board. Translate programme complexity into clarity and insight
- Accelerate Decision-Making: Provide the connective tissue between business strategy and technical delivery. Remove blockers, surface trade-offs, and help leaders make faster, better decisions
- Champion Ways of Working: Be a driver of continuous improvement in how we plan, execute, and collaborate across technology. Bring a pragmatic view of agile, hybrid, or waterfall practices based on the initiative at hand
- Orchestrate Stakeholders: Partner with senior leaders across Commercial, Digital, Operations, and Corporate Functions to align dependencies, prioritisation, and sequencing
- Structure for Scale: Help shape the evolving structure of On’s global tech organisation. Design how work gets done across regions and teams as we scale
Your story
- 7+ years leading large, complex technology programmes in fast-paced, global organisations
- Track record of delivering cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, systems, and locations — ideally including at least one of: AI enablement, ERP transformation, supply chain digitisation, or data platform modernisation
- Experience running a PMO or programme delivery function — with the confidence to build from the ground up or refine what’s already there
- Highly structured with the ability to bring calm to ambiguity and urgency to inertia
- Strong communicator who can translate complex programmes into compelling updates for executives and practitioners alike
- Global mindset and emotional intelligence: you lead with empathy, listen well, and can align diverse perspectives into shared goals
- Comfortable switching between the boardroom and the war room — from presenting to execs to unblocking dependencies with a delivery team
- Fluent in English; other languages a plus
