Overview
In this role you define the strategic vision and lead the engineering execution for On’s bottom units in high-performance footwear. You oversee a tooling engineering team, collaborating with On Labs in Zurich and partners in Asia to guide from concept to commercialization. You’ll shape materials, geometries and construction while driving process improvements, budget stewardship, and long-term tooling capability building. This is an opportunity to impact product performance, sustainability, and global manufacturing collaboration at scale.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Define and drive the bottom unit development strategy and technical authority on materials, mold construction, and advanced manufacturing.
- Lead a cross-functional tooling team and act as engineering partner to Design, Development and Product Management.
- Spearhead process optimization to accelerate prototyping, testing, and global workflow efficiency.
- Advise product creation teams on design feasibility and integration of next-generation midsole components.
- Manage partnerships with Asian tooling counterparts and mold shop teams to improve collaboration and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Establish and uphold manufacturability and durability standards; review CADs and prototypes to ensure alignment with specs.

- 10+ years in footwear engineering with focus on tooling and bottom unit development
- expert knowledge of footwear materials, mold construction, and manufacturing processes
- proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (Rhino, SolidWorks) and rapid prototyping
